This past Saturday, June 5th, 2010, Elite TV was invited to cover a pre-party kick off for the new ‘Karate Kid’ movie with Jaden Smith at the Norwalk Golf N’ Stuff. The event entailed a live karate demonstration by United Martial Artists for Christ, Red Dragon Karate Studio in West Covina, Original stuntmen for The Power Team; Gary Kasper (Scare Tactics, Conan) and Daron McBee (Motaro, Mortal Kombat, “Malibu” from American Gladiator) and hosting the event was friend Reba Toney from The Fish radio station. From ages 6 to over 50 the students and masters displayed an array of different martial art styles and defense moves. Some of the more experienced motivational displays included breaking 6-8 bricks with either a heel or elbow! It was amazing! A little more of the stickier fun included ripping open full soda cans! Elite TV interviewed Bob White (The Karate Kid-original), Gerald Okamura (Big Trouble Little China, G.I. Joe) and others. For footage on the event stayed tuned into S.O.G.
